Autoantibodies against TPO, TG and TSH receptors in the diagnosis of autoimmune thyroid diseases

چکیده
Autoimmune thyroid diseases (AITD) are characterized by the presence of thyroid-specifi c autoantibodies. These are direc ted against thyroid microsomes, for which the main target antigen is thyroid peroxidase (TPO), against thyroglobulin (TG), or against the thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) receptor. AITD frequently occur in combination with other autoimmune diseases, such as myasthenia gravis, pernicious anaemia, chronic atrophic gastritis or autoimmune polyendocrinopathy. Therefore, further, corresponding autoantibodies are often found in the serum of AITD patients.

متن کاملThe role-playing autoantibodies in autoimmune thyroid diseases and their extra-thyroidal manifestations: review article
The presence of the antibodies against the main thyroid antigens, which include thyroid peroxidase (TPO) or microsomal antigen, thyroglobulin (Tg) as well as thyrotropin receptor or Thyroid Stimulating Hormone Receptor (TSH-R), is a hallmark and symbol of the autoimmune thyroid diseases (AITDs) as one of the most common autoimmune diseases (AD) around the world. The prevalence of the thyroid pe...
متن کاملAssociation of Melasma with thyroid disorders: A case-control study
Background and aim: Melasma is an acquired, symmetric hyperpigmentation, specially in sun-exposed skin. Disorders of thyroid gland result from processes that stimulate the overproduction or underproduction of thyroid hormones. This study was performed to assess the association of melasma with thyroid disorders.Materials and Methods: This case-control study was performed...
